Next seasons World Cup name decided!

The next seasons AEFA World Cup has been named the "Johan Mjällby World Cup".

It has been named as such by Andreas Möllberg, manager of Kurenai who was granted the honour by winning the Final Destination Quiz hosted by Antonio Andrade of Sporting Clube de Alcabideche.

The reason for the naming is that it's in honour of the managers favourite player of all time and here's a little information on the player in his early career:

Johan Mjällby spent fourteen years in AIK and established himself in the side with solid performances as a no-nonsense tackling midfield player. His performances at club level were noticed and he soon broke through to the Swedish national team. Although he was a squad member in 1992 when AIK won the league, he refused to accept the gold medal, stating that he felt he hadn't contributed enough. Therefore it was a great day when the lifelong AIK supporter Mjällby got his silverware in 1998 when he guided to club to a new league victory.

He then joined Scottish Premier League giants Celtic:
Throughout his six years at Celtic Park he picked up 3 Scottish Premier League Winner's medals, 2 League Cup Winner's medals, 2 Scottish Cup Winner's medals, 2 Scottish Cup Runners Up medals, 1 League Cup Runners Up medal and 1 UEFA Cup Runners Up medal as well as featuring in the Champions League Competition of seasons, 2001/02 and 2002/03. During his time at Celtic, Mjällby captained the team on several occasions. He is regarded as the best defender to have player for the club in recent decades.

So there you have it, I will be back later with more information from the world of Lineker.

A new start

Greetings everyone.

The blog is now back from it's hiatus and I am here as a new addition, can't have a relaunch without a new feature can we?:)

I will be posting news from AEFA on a regular basis, big signings, injury woes, league updates, end of season summaries and maybe a interview or two. Of course if there is anything you readers feel that I should write about just leave a comment and I will ponder on it:)

Of course I will also post about major news concerning FML itself, we also have a RSS feed to the official FML blogs on the right hand side below the Premier League feed.

When a particular contest or event is going on, say, the Champion's League for example, I will add a feed for that as well.

But that's just feeds, this is a blog about AEFA after all and welcome to it's relaunch!

The Final Whistle 13-03-2009

The Final Whistle (This week sponsored by Shev Jamil of AEFA)

Musings from a week in football..FML and the real world!

Well, whats been hapnin it seems a while since my last Final Whistle! As the kids would say!!
"I was held down with a shotgun to my head as i lurked in the back corridors of Lineker, a shadow loomed over me and a voice said through my MSN messenger "kev u tit" get back to Lineker!!" I did it! It was 22:45, it was late i was confused and with 2 clicks i was back after 2 seasons absence i was back!!!! Not alot had changed really, i still managed to assemble a team of misfits and rejects, or players with wages people were trying to offload and with in a week im back in the top 300!! When i left i was 547th ranked in the world so thats not bad!! Although i have been assisted by the loan market!! My team is like a branch of blockbusters! (an ode to Terry Tibbs, gone but not forgotten!)

Ive amazingly been squeezed into AEFA championship...im not doing to bad and a few more old faces have returned to the fold..im a bit miffed at the £9m transfer budget of said manager..BOO! oh well..too the season ahead which has started well..i might actually not get relegated! Although John Batty has loaned me a cracking curry recipe!
Same old chat in the lobby, banter and general funiness! Its all part of the game. The most amusing shocking thing ive read in ages came in the new lets get tough rules sent from SI/SEGA..it reads... LEGAL CONDUCT

- FML has its own economy and in-game method for trading players and competition rewards. You must not offer to sell players for real life money or any other real life benefits. This also includes auctioning players on real life auction websites.

I can't believe some people would even consider it!! Hey ive got a player on EBAY as we speak..he`s not real but give me £10 and he`s urs!! Apparently WOW accounts are going for $1000 on ebay! Those crazy yanks eh!! Whats that old saying..."Only in AMERICA!" god bless em! I struggle to hide the £17.99 i spent in ASDA on a 2nd sub from the mrs!! I told her it was diesel for the motor!! Hmm..thats an odd price luv!! Not sure i could hide the oh yeh i spent a tenner on a fictional player on a Football manager game!

So whats been going on in the Real world of football....hang on..im getting a bit confused these days in separating FML from the Football in real life...as in real life the daggers are loosing more than winning and the top 4 in the premiership moon walk there way through Europe!! The Real Madrid capitulaitoion to the red side of the Mersey was shocking!! It does make me smile...oooh 4 ENGLISH clubs through to the last 8...how many English players tho!! 12 maybe??
Ah The premier league u cant beat it can u!! Well yeh you probably can but theres so much around the rest of the world!!

Ashley cole..what a great lad he is..Upon returning from Juventus he described how he came from behind an old lady and had given her a good spanking! Back to the dog house for you my lad!
An Arsenal Fan stabbed in the ARSE in Roma..just be thankfull Cockfoster aren't in Europe!

Roma`s Defeat to Arsenal was a blow for coach Luigi Spaletti, but atleast he can console himself that he was named winner of the most Italian sounding name since Guispeppi Tutti Frutti!

Evertons Victor Anichebee..not having a good time is he..stamped on by Kevin Nolan in Newcastle, booed by Newcastle fans as he hobbles off the pitch. This week left distressed after being pounced on by police- while on crutches for looking in a jewellery shop window. Makes you proud to be English!

David Beckham says he is not fazed by being booed by LA Galaxy fans, a man who had an effigy of himself strung up by fans, what wont trouble him is the though of being jeered at by three fat men called corey!!

Sam Alardyce has told his Blackburn team to slim down a bit! He then said something else but it was hard to make out as he stuffed some cake into his fat face!
Aparently Gomes isn't afraid of taking on the top 4 big boys!! Well im sure u`ll be ok against Birmingham, Wolves and Burnley Heurelho!

SO to another week in Lineker...have a good one..U`ll see Louis balfour lerking in the AEFA chat or the lobby...just don't forget...only 1 line in the Market Place! This isn't EBAY!

Cheers ALL

State of the current gameworld

hey all just thought i would get some opinions across and see how you all felt about this. Jon recently started a blog and he talked about some of the issues that our gameworld has and a few of the lads have talked about switching gameworlds due to these errors and i disagree with most peoples views. fair enough the game world has flaws but so do most of the current worlds! i spoke to someone in saunders and he told me Richard sukuta pasu ( one of my current youths) went for 10 million! fair enough thats a high price but tbh i think hes worth the same. transfer values are mad at the moment but it happens, people are new to the world and need to understand how the values work and i think it will all level out soon so it should be all good. wages are a problem but sooner or later people will realise , stop bidding as much and this issue will settle aswell. fair enough alot of people are bidding erraticly for example Fabián Moreno went for 69k wages but as long as people are willing to pay as much then it will continue. I hope you all dont decide to change worlds etc as i know for a fact things will level out so just be patient :)

AEFA Qual 3 final report With full table

Hey all I’m sorry about the lateness of this report I was busy celebrating eid yesterday so I took a personal day off :D. Now onto the final report of the season!!
Qual 3 has been full of action this season with teams going up and down and surprisingly my personal prediction of soulnas hanging onto top spot after being there for 2 weeks proved wrong with Jani’s Cheesy Kingdom stealing the title by 3 points!. Third place Andy’s All stars finished 3rd with 70 points only 2 points off second spot. The top five and newly promoted premier league teams are as follows!
Cheesy Kingdom
Soulnas
Andy’s All Stars
Athletico Grimsby
Team Win FC

rest of table at the top of the post

Congratulations to those teams and a well done to all other teams as they made the league enjoyable for all teams. Now for the awards!!!!!
Goal of the season - Carbon Isotope’s Jula goal- shrugged off two defenders before drilling it into the bottom Player of the season - Tommaso Rocchi second top goal scorer has the second best average and he only played half of the season!
Golden Glove - Roy Carroll 19 clean sheets this season
Golden Boot - Marcelinho 21 goals in 38 games
Set piece merchants - SAC United scored 22 goals from set pieces
Dirtiest team (most fouls) - Robbo's Allstars 638 fouls this season!
Wooden glove - Giorgi Makaridze conceded almost 2 a game!
A final well done to all award winners and teams for making the first lineker season fun and I hope we have a lot more like this.

AEFA Qualifiers 3 Report

Hey all its time for the weekly reports. I'm Shevez and I'm doing your weekly reports this season.

Let's get it started with having a look at the table. Q3 is very active it seems as the top 3 teams have nearly finished their seasons! 27 games in a week out of the 38 games in a season have been played.

The top 3 teams are Soulnas with 52 points, Galaktyka Gliwice are second with 44 points and Monochrome FC are 3rd with 35 points.

This being the first season the top 5 teams will be put in the premiership, 6-10th are in D1, 11th to 15th are in D2 and 16th to 20th are in D3. (Or another system yet to be announced by the AEFA organisers :))

The top goal scorer so far in Q3 is Marcelinho with 16 goals in 27 games
Most assists are from Hugo Droguett with 9 in 26 games
Roy Carroll has the most clean sheets with 11
And Marco Antonio Palacioshas the best average rating of 7.26 in 15 games

The goal of the week goes to Carbon Isotope vs soulnas - Marcelinho.

He ran from the half way line dodged two tackles and rifled the ball into the bottom corner.

Next week's report will be on Sunday and it will feature a look at who I consider to be each team's key player and weakest link
